I'm a huge fan of the Legacy, partly because it's larger and the wagon looks better... Mostly I think it's because it's a bit more understated and doesn't have the same image than the Impreza has in the UK. Twin Turbo on the 2nd generation is also rather attractive.

Impregacy? or is that when you conceive in the back of a legacy wagon?

My vote is for legacy. The more grown up WRX.

4th gen (03–09) Legacy 2.5 GT ("spec- something," "i" or some other trim level) wagon.

Just to clarify, the black car is a lowered Outback.
The fender flares and front fascia give it away.
I would say Legacy... and be prepared for suspension and other up-keep work beyond 100k miles, especially if lowered and stiffer suspended.
90's and early 2000s cars may require less upkeep if they have more durable bushings, but will be less refined inside and out otherwise.

BL (sedan) and BP (wagon) chassis code 4th gen cars started in 2004 model year overseas, and 2005 model year in the US, through 2009. Just FYI.

So much want. The Legacy Outback Wagon is amazing.
Too bad the wife doesn't like them. :(

Depends, if we're talking 22B vs the old 3.0R Legacy then it's a tough decision that goes to the 22B. Any other Impreza though and it goes to the 3.0R.

I think the Legacy looks better, and the extra space is nice.

The twin turbo Legacy is awful. It's an awful car with terrible engine response. It sounds good on paper, that's it.

The fourth gen Legacy is the best looking Subaru in at least the past 12 years (not including the BRZ). The fact that it has more room for life makes it even better

I'm pretty sure it's pronounced "Impretsa".

Very good eye. How could you tell?
Was difficult to find a nice pic of a legacy. I actually prefer the previous generation to the one I posted. Only in Sedan though, hated the look of the rear on the wagon version.

First... I own a 2005 Legacy GT sedan.
Second, the Legacy wagon didn't have lower cladding and add-on fender flares.
The Front fascia didn't have reflector fog lights, either, and a different fascia with projector fogs. in smaller, more angular pockets.
This is a BP 05-06 Legacy GT Wagon. (cancelled after 2007 in the US market, when Legacy became all sedan, and Outback became all-wagon)
The fenders and doors are all metal, with only a rub strip, no cladding on the bottom of the doors, and no fender flares, and the different fascia as mentioned.
Also, the Legacy stock grille had one chrome bar in the center, where Outback had two recessed plastic bars.
